6 min read

I love reading about my favorite authors. There's something special about getting a little glimplse into the lives of the people who create the characters, stories, and worlds we fall in love with. We spend so much time getting to know their fictional characters, but what about the person behind the pages?

So, for November, I thought it would be fun to turn the tables and share a littel about myself!

Some of these facts might surprise you, some might make you laugh, and a few might make you wonder how I manage to fit it all into one little life. So grab your favorite drink, get comfortable, and let's get to know the girl behind the books!

  1. Coffee is my Drug of Choice

I don't drink alcohol, I don't cuss (because ladies never cuss), but I do have one little addiction I'm not giving up anytime soon: COFFEE!

My go-to order is a sugar-free vanilla breve. There's just something about that first sip of coffee that makes the world feel a little more manageable. Whether I'm settling in to write, heading out for an adventure, or simply trying to get my day started as the girl in the pink work boots, coffee is my trusty sidekick.

Some people need a glass of wine after a long day. Me? Hand me a coffee, and we're good to go!

  2. I'm an Introvert Who Loves Telling Stories

Suprise! This author is an intorvert, like so many others.

People sometimes assume that because I write books and share them with the world, I must be outgoing all the time. The truth is, I love my quiet time. I enjoy being in my own little world, dreaming up characters, creating stories, and getting lost in my imagination.

Writing gives me a way to express things I might not always say out loud. I can pour my heart into my books, let my characters find their voices, and share peices of myself through the stories I create. Another fun fact is all my books have some truth/ my life in them. Write what you know right!

I may be an intorvert, but give me a story to tell, and I can fill plenty of pages!

  3. The Great Outdoors is My Happy Place

If I'm not curled up with a book or working on my next story, there's a pretty good chance you'll find me outside. There's something about getting out into nature that clears my mind and reminds me how beautiful life can be. Whether I'm exploring a trail, paddling across the water, or bouncing down a back road, I'm happy! And speaking of the outdoors...

  4. Call Me the Bass Master!

Yes, you read that right! I love bass fishing, and heading up north to catch the big ones is one of my favorite things to do. There's nothing quite like being out on the water, at 4 am, watching the sun rise over the trees, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, and waiting for that big bass to take the bait. Of course, the goal is always to catch the biggest one, because a little friendly competition never hurt anyone!

Give me a beautiful lake, a fishing rod, and the promise of a big catch, and you have one happy girl!

  5. My Pink Bunny Slippers are My Party Shoes

I know, I know. You might think an adventurous woman who loves the outdoors would be ready to hit the town every weekend.

    Nope!

I would much rather be home, wrapped in a fuzzy blanket, wearing my pink bunny slippers, than dressing up and heading to a party.

Give me a cozy night at home, a good book or great movie, a little quiet time, and perhaps a steaming cup of coffee, and I'm in heaven.

There is something wonderful about being comfortable in your own space, with no expectations, no noise, and nowhere you need to be.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy spending time with the people I love, but my idea of a perfect evening doesn't require a crowded room or a late night. Sometimes, happiness looks like pink bunny slippers and a warm blanket!

  6. 80's Hair Bands Are My Therapy

Music has a way of reaching places in our hearts that words sometimes can't.

For me, music is healing. It can lift my spirits, help me work through a bad day, and remind me that I'm stronger than I feel in the moments I want to hide. And when I need a little pick-me-up? Bring on the 80's hair bands!

There is just something about that music that makes me want to turn it up, sing along, and forget about whatever is weighing on my mind. A bad day doesn't stand a chance against a little 80's rock! You have to admit they loved hard in the 80's!

  1. I'm the Girl Who Loves When the Sky Changes Colors

I will always be the girl who stops to admire a beautiful sky. Sunrises, sunsets, storm clouds rolling in, and those breathtaking moments when the sky changes colors are some of my favorite things. I can never get enough of them. I love the rain, especially the sound. And a bonfire beneath a star-filled sky? Absolutely magical. I think some of life's most beautiful moments are the simplest ones. We get so caught up in our busy lives that we forget to look up, take a breath, and appriciate what's right in front of us.

All I need is a colorful sky, the smell of the rain, or a crackling fire to put a smile on my face.

  2. Halloween is My Favorite Holiday

Move over Christmas! Halloween has my heart. Fall is my favorite season, and Halloween is the icing on the cake. I love crisp fall air, the changing leaves, the cozy atmosphere, and everything that makes autumn feel a little magical.

There is something about this time of year that sparks my imagination. Maybe that's why I love writing stories filled with suspense, unexspected twists, and characters who aren't always what they seem.

Give me spooky decorations, a chilly autumn evening, and all the Halloween vibes, oh and of course Hocus Pocus! Best ever!

  3. I'm Nice.....Sometimes Too Nice

Here's one fact about me that I think a lot of people can relate to. I am nice, maybe too nice sometimes. I care deeply about people, and I want to believe the best in them. I want to help when I can, show up when someone needs me, and make people feel like they matter. But being kind can be a complicated thing. We give so much of ourselves to others that we forget to save a little kindness for ourselves. I'm learning that it's okay to have bounderies. It's okay to say no. And It's okay to recognize that being a good person doesn't mean you have to make everyone happy. I still believe kindness matters. I believe a little compassion can change someone's day, and sometimes even their life. I just know that kindness should include ourselves too.

  4. The Girl Behind the Books Writes From the Heart

Writing has become such an important part of my life. From children's books to suspenseful romance, true crime, and thrillers, each book has given me a new way to connect with readers. I love creating characters who make people feel something. I want my readers to laugh, cry, fall in love, feel their hearts race, and occasionally want to throw a book across the room because of a plot twist! But more than anything, I hope my stories leave readers with something to think about long after they turn the final page. My characters might be fictional, but emotions, struggles, courage, love and hope woven into the stories are real. And while I may be an introvert who prefers coffee, cozy blankets, fishing trips, and quiet nights at home, writing gives me a way to share my heart with people I might never otherwise meet. That is one of the beautiful thing about books. They bring people together, even when we are miles apart.

So there you have it! A little peek into the life of the girl behind the books. I'm a coffee-loving, pink-bunny-slipper-wearing, bass master, introvert who loves 80's hair bands, autumn skies, bonfires, and all things Halloween. I would rather enjoy a quiet night at home vs a big party, and I will probably always stop to admire a beautiful sunset. I'm an outdoor adventuer with a cozy side, a storyteller with a big imagination, and a woman who believes kindness still matters, even in a world that can be so very unkind. I may not be the loudest person in the room, but I have plenty to say through the stories I write.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know the person behind the pages. Every reader who picks up one of my books becomes a little part of this writing journey, and I am so greatful for each and every one of you!

Until next time folks, Stay fearless, keep reading, keep dreaming, and don't forget to stop and watch the sky change colors!
