It's Never Too Late!

For a long time, I thought life was something that happened in stages. You grow up. You become an adult. You become a parent. You work. You raise your family. You take care of everyone else. And somewhere along the way, you hope you'll find time for yourself.
But what I've learned is this:
It's never too late to start living!
I became a mother very young. My youth was non-exsitent, and adult responsibilities came along before I felt completely ready for them. While other people were figuring out who they were, I was figuing out how to raise little people, keep a household going, finish school, work, and be everything everyone needed me to be.
I wouldn't change being a mother, not for anything. But sometimes I wonder about that younger version of me, the girl who didn't get the chance to simply be young. To be spontaneous. To chase adventures. To make mistakes without worrying about everyone else. To discover herself beyond being someone's mom, someone's partner, someone's employee, or the person everyone counted on.
And maybe that's why I've come to believe so strongly that we should never stop discovering ourselves.
Age doesn't mean your adventures are over. It doesn't mean you have missed your chance, or that you are too old to try something new, fall in love with life again, travel somewhere you have never been, laugh until your stomach hurts, dance in the kitchen, climb a mountain!!!
Write a book you have always dreamed about, or simply wake up one morning and decide, today, I'm going to do something just for me. Because none of us knows what's waiting around the next corner.
Life can change in an instant. One phone call, one diagnosis, one goodbye, one unexspected hello, one opportunity, one person walking into your life. That one dicision you never imagined making.
Tomorrow is never promised and that's not meant to scare us. It's meant to remind us to LIVE!
Stop waiting for everything to be perfect.
Stop telling yourself you'll do it someday.
Someday isn't guarantieed.
If you want to take the trip......start planning it.
If you want to write the book......Pick up the pen.
If you want to wear the dress......wear it.
If you want to dance.......turn up the music and move.
If you want to fall in love........open your heart.
If you want to start over..........start.
If you want to jump out of an airplane into a hot air balloon, and bungee jump into a shark cage.........who's with me?
And if you spent years putting everyone first, maybe it's finally time to put yourself somewhere on that list.
There is no expiration date on happiness, no age limit on adventure, no rule saying your best memories have to be behind you.
Maybe the best chapter of your life hasn't even been written yet.
I have learned that life isn't about how many years are behind us. It's about what we choose to do with the years we have left.
So get up. Go somewhere, try new things, laugh a little louder, love a little deeper, take the pictures, make the memories, chase the dreams, and don't wait for tomorrow to start living the life you've been wishing for.
Because life is incredibly short. And you never know what beautiful, unexpected thing might be waiting just around the corner.
So live it! Every messy, beautiful, unpredictable second of it!!
Because maybe the greatest adventure isn't the life we thought we'd have, it's the life we finally decided to live!!!
Until next time folks....stay fearless and LIVE!
