My Words for 2026: Let Them

Every Year, I choose a word or words not a resolution, not a rigid goal but a guide. Something that can breathe with me through the year.

For 2026, my words are simple, powerful, and freeing.

Let Them. Let them misunderstand me.

Let them judge.

Let them walk away.

Let them talk.

Let them choose differently than I would.

For so long, I carried the weight of other people's reactions, trying to explain myself better, soften my truth, shrink my boundaries, or overextend my heart so no one would be uncomfortable. Let them is my permission simply stop. Because here's the truth I'm finally honoring:

I can not control how others see me, receive me, or respond to me. And I was never meant to.

Let Them doesn't mean I don't care. It means I care enough about myself to stop abandoning who I am just to be accepted. If they don't support my growth- let them. If they don't celebrate my healing- let them.

If they can't come with me into the next chapter-let them.

2026 is about releasing the need to convince, chase, or prove. It's choosing peace over performance. Alignment over approval. Truth over comfort. And just as important as let them is the quiet companion to these words:

Let me.

Let me rest, let me heal, let me take up space, let me dream bigger.

Let me say no without guilt, Let me say yes without fear.

This year, I'm no longer responsible for managing other people's expectations of me. I'm responsible for honoring my own values, protecting my peace, and living honestly.

So if they don't understand: Let Them

If they don't like it: Let Them

I'll be too busy becoming who I was always meant to be.

Here's to 2026

the year of release, boundaries, and quiet strength.

The year I finally....Let Them!
